Guest Rooms Past and present complement each other in the guest areas of Kenburn Orchards Bed and Breakfast to provide a setting as comfortable as it is gracious. Surrounded by the elegance of fine antique furniture, oriental carpets and original paintings, guests sleep in the comfort of king or queen- size beds, and enjoy the convenience of the most modern private baths.
The dining room, parlor and the front porch are common areas for the enjoyment of all our guests. The parlor, warmed by a gas fireplace, invites you to curl up and read in the wing back reclining chair, or stretch out on Larry's grandmother's couch. Hidden in an antique corner cupboard is a TV that gets a couple of network channels. Mrs. Brooks, whose portrait hangs in the living room, appears to share our guests' pleasure. Guest Rooms Each room has a private bath en suite, furnished with luxurious deep-pile Frette robes for relaxing in style. In each room you'll find your own teakettle and a selection of teas, coffee and cocoa for a soothing drink on your own schedule. Go to sleep to music from our CD collection, or bring your own CDs to play on your in-room CD player/clock radio. Our sheets and towels are all cotton, and of course we provide warm down comforters for New England winter nights. Each room has a hair dryer and its own iron and ironing board so you can spruce up for that special dinner or occasion. Air conditioning and Panama ceiling fans ensure comfort year-round. There's a kaleidoscope for endless entertainment. A separate staircase leads to each of the upstairs guest rooms, resulting in a sense of complete privacy. Each guest room is named to honor a member of the three preceding generations of Susan's family who have made Kenburn Orchards their home, and like their namesakes, each room has a special charm.
The Isadore Pratt room on the second floor features a canopied queen cherry pencil post bed. Three tall windows, facing south and east, invite light and the wonders of outdoors right into the room. Its bath, with views to the north orchard, is very large with a deep claw-foot soaking bathtub, a separate shower and pedestal sink. The Kenyon Yale room, also on the second floor, is the perfect place to retreat from the world. It is reached by its own set of stairs from the dining room, and is tucked partially under the eaves. Furnished a bit less formally with a queen-size cherry spindle bed, it feels comfortably cozy. Its bath is large, with an air-pool tub, separate shower, and pedestal sink.
The Grosvenor Pierce room on the first floor, with views to the north orchard, offers a king-sized cherry four post bed, and a red Vermont Castings gas fireplace. The old brick of the exposed chimney, the lustre of solid maple flooring and an extra high ceiling with Panama fan add to the charm of this delightful room. The bath is equipped with a shower, and there is a hand-thrown pottery lavatory sink in the room.
After a busy day, enjoy a restful sleep in our very comfortable rooms. Awaken to a full "candlelight and crystal" breakfast. Soft music accompanies your breakfast each morning........ you'll simply never want to leave! Stay with us and enjoy the best of everything in the best location that New England has to offer.
We are able to accommodate two guests per room.
