Our Code of Ethics

Our mission is to ensure you experience a visit of the highest quality.

The members of the Mohawk Hills Bed & Breakfast Association have joined together to provide the highest quality experience for our guests. To qualify for membership, B&B owners subscribe to a code of ethics guiding how we operate our establishments, which must also meet standards for quality and cleanliness.

Members of the Mohawk Hills Bed & Breakfast Association uphold the interests and reputation of the Association as a high quality accommodation group, and recognize that membership in the MHBBA may be revoked for failure to comply with this code of ethics.

1. MHBBA members operate their businesses with integrity and honesty, providing guests with courteous, personalized, and professional hospitality.

a. We welcome guests from all cultures, backgrounds, and lifestyles.

b. We aspire to excellence in cleanliness, safety, and hospitality in a quality private home.

2. MHBBA members operate their B&Bs as legitimate and legal businesses.

a. We have current and complete licenses, certificates, and permits to legally operate a bed and breakfast establishment, and operate our businesses in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and ordinances.

b. We take all reasonable measures to ensure the comfort and safety of our guests and the safety and security of the property, both indoors and out, in compliance with fire safety and public health codes.

3. MHBBA members act with integrity and professionalism in all their business practices.

a. We handle all inquiries, requests, reservations, and correspondence promptly, courteously, and fairly.

b. We provide accommodations, services, and meals consistent with our advertising, and ensure that all advertising is accurate and truthful.

c. We publish and charge appropriate rates and publish and adhere to stated and reasonable policies regarding rates, deposits, and cancellations.

d. We respond promptly, courteously, and professionally to all complaints, either verbally or in writing.
